Security and Safeguarding Information
Rapport International, LLC considers all information related to its clients strictly confidential, whether related to translation or interpreting projects. We will sign our standard non-disclosure agreement or yours as requested.
Rapport International will take reasonable measures to protect the confidentiality of all client proprietary information. Rapport International will be entitled to provide copies of confidential or proprietary materials to any and all of Rapport International’s employees, agents, independent contractors, or other third party service providers, to the extent required to complete the work for the client.
Rapport International shall have no responsibility for information that becomes available to the general public through no act or negligence on the part of Rapport International.
A translation memory, or TM, is a database that stores “segments” of language, which may include sentences, paragraphs or sentence-like units (headings, titles or elements in a list) that have previously been translated, in order to facilitate similar translations in the future. While translating client documents, Rapport International is continually building its translation memory so that future documents contain consistent wording with past materials. The translation memory that is built in the process of translating client’s proprietary and/or confidential materials is the property of Rapport International and unless otherwise agreed in writing, is not the property of the client. The translation memory shall remain the property of Rapport International as a confidential, internal translation tool for use by employees and independent contractors. Rapport International reserves the right to use the translation memory in any manner, including the performance of services.
Employee and Independent Contractor Non-Disclosure
Employees and Contractors employed by Rapport International sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement that states they agree to keep confidential all proprietary information of Rapport International and any Rapport International customer or potential customer. This includes documents and information which is obtained during the course of communications with, or delivery of services for Rapport International
In the course of doing business Rapport International will make available to their linguists and employees certain confidential information which will enable him or her to perform their duties. In exchange, our linguists and employees agree to use this confidential information solely for the benefit of Rapport International and its clients. “Confidential Information” means any proprietary information, technical data, trade secrets or know-how, including, but not limited to, research, product plans, products, services, customer lists and customers (including, but not limited to, customers whom the linguist or employee called or with whom he or she became acquainted during the performance of work), markets, software, developments, inventions, processes, formulas, technology, designs, drawings, engineering, hardware configuration information, marketing, finances or other business information disclosed to the linguist or employee by Rapport International. Confidential Information does not include information that becomes available to the general public through no act or negligence on the part of Rapport International or their linguists and employees.
